Brian Theoret, the lead singer and songwriter of the acoustic folk-rock band The Barlow Saints hails from the quiet hills and rolling fields of St. Albans, Vermont.
The Barlow Saints look to break into the folk-rock landscape with their upcoming debut album, Before These Days Have Come and Gone, fusing Brian's homespun vocal narratives with his rustic acoustic guitar playing to create coarse yet sophisticated melodies. With standout tracks like Confide, Live, and Another Punch for the Weary, The Barlow Saints appeal to folks fans and non-folk fans alike.
Brian grew up listening to his father strumming his old guitar and
singing funny songs and was inspired to begin taking piano lessons as a
child. He picked up the alto saxophone in middle school and later in
college picked up the guitar, mandolin, tin whistle, recorder,
harmonica, and the piano yet again.
Throughout his musical journey, Brian was always drawn towards the
music of such singer/songwriters as Martin Sexton, and Damien Rice and
the likes of Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He has always had a
passion for music that speaks to people.
